Here is a listing of the club’s regular group workouts. If you would like to have a group workout added to the schedule, please email us (stc-workout@sactriclub.com) and provide all the details and we will add it as soon as possible.

9:15 a.m. Morning Ride (RSVP Required)

  • Time : Meet 9:15AM. We roll at 9:30AM

  • Where : Johnson Ranch Racquet Club South parking lot: 2600 Eureka Rd Roseville (Between E Roseville Pkwy and Sierra College Blvd) (map)
  • Details:
    • How Far: Approximately 40 miles through the foothills to Auburn and back. Lots of rolling hills!
    • What to bring: 2 bottles of sports drink, 2 energy replacements (bars, gels, etc), $ for the mini mart
    • This is a moderately-paced, no-drop ride. Pam and I will both be out, so we will split the group if needed. Dress warm! Rain cancels, or join us for a windtrainer workout in my garage.

6:00 a.m. Run workout (RSVP Required)

  • Time : 6:00 am.

  • Where : Sacramento (CSUS - Guy West Bridge)
  • Details: 3-5 mile Run (set your own distance and pace) on the American River Bike Trail with me & my dog. Meet on the West Side of Guy West Bridge. I run short at moderate pace (usually 8:20 to 8:40 minutes/mile) Hard rain cancels this run.

6:00 p.m. Bike/Run STARTS April 1 (RSVP Requested)

  • Time : Ready to go at 6 pm

  • Where : McKinley Park at the drinking fountain by the tennis courts (33rd St between McKinley and Park Way) (map)
  • Details:
    • How Far: An approximately 18 mile ride then a 2 to 6 mile run
    • The bike rides are seasonal, starting after daylight savings begins and going thru early Sept. or so once the days get too short then it’s run only. The rides consist of a 15 min warmup to CSUS then the bike trail where we do a either a pair of 7 mi tempo rides or a set of 10 half mile intervals at anaerobic threshold pace, then back to McKinley Park for a run starting about 7:20. We regroup at several points during the ride, about 18 mi total. I recommend you have sufficient bike handling skills in order to safely navigate the bike path in a group, and have enough base training in order to undertake a relatively short but higher intensity workout. A brief run immediately follows, it is less structured, 2-6 laps at a pace of your choice, there are usually faster and slower groups.
